San Benito County is situated in the Coast Range Mountains of California, and it covers approximately 1,396 square miles with elevation from near sea level to over 5,000 feet. Its population is around 56,000. Its county seat Hollister is about 95 miles south of San Francisco and 300 miles north of Los Angeles. Notable locations include Pinnacles National Monument, Fremont Peak State Park, San Benito Historical Park and Laguna Creek among many others.
